Israeli airline Israir has received temporary approval from the US Department of Transport to operate flights between Israel and the US, allowing the carrier to increase competition on the Tel Aviv - New York route. Final operating approval is expected by June 2025. Israir will arrange to operate Airbus A330 aircraft on a dry lease and is estimated to start flights from Passover 2026. The absence of US airlines from Israel during the war has resulted in high demand for flights to the US.
