A massive wildfire has destroyed the Einot Gibton Nature Reserve in central Israel, just two years after it reopened following a restoration project. The fire spread from the reserve to nearby agricultural areas, leading to the closure of Highway 6 and a large-scale emergency response. The blaze caused extensive ecological and structural damage, wiping out years of rehabilitation efforts. The reserve, known for its rare wetland habitat, will remain closed until further notice.
