Hospitals in Gaza received the remains of 51 Palestinians who were killed in Israeli strikes, bringing the death toll from the Israel-Hamas war to 52,243. Israel has been carrying out daily waves of strikes since ending its ceasefire with Hamas on March 18. The blockade has cut off all imports, including food and medicine, for nearly 60 days. Israel says the offensive and blockade are aimed at pressuring Hamas to release hostages abducted in 2023. The war has displaced around 90% of Gaza's population and left hundreds of thousands of people in squalid conditions.
