A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck western Turkey and Greek islands, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old child and injuries to 68 people. Many were hurt while jumping from heights in a panic during the quake. Another earthquake of magnitude 5.2 hit the sea off the Greek island of Crete with no reported damage or injuries.
