A panel of judges from the International Criminal Court has formally reported Hungary to the court's oversight body for failing to arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to Budapest. The judges stated that Hungary's refusal to detain Netanyahu, who is subject to an active arrest warrant for alleged crimes against humanity in Gaza, undermines the court's mission to bring suspects to justice. Despite the warrant, Netanyahu was welcomed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who expressed only limited commitment to the court and began steps for Hungary to withdraw from its jurisdiction. The court rejected Hungary's legal arguments, insisting that it was the country's responsibility to ensure compliance with international obligations.
