Sgt. Maj. (res.) Betzalel Yehoshua Mosbacher, a reservist from the 749th Combat Engineering Battalion, has died after being seriously wounded by a roadside explosion in southern Gaza. The incident occurred in Khan Younis on July 19, where Mosbacher and another soldier were injured while driving a Humvee. Mosbacher, who worked for the Electricity Authority, is survived by his wife, young daughter, parents, and siblings. His death brings the number of Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza in July to sixteen, as fighting continues and negotiations for a ceasefire remain stalled. The overall toll for Israeli forces since the start of the ground offensive in Gaza has reached 457, with the total number of military casualties since the outbreak of the war at 896.
