Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa'ar met with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in Jerusalem to discuss bilateral relations, the situation in Gaza, and international calls for recognition of a Palestinian state. Sa'ar emphasized Israel's humanitarian efforts and criticized Hamas for refusing to negotiate the release of hostages, attributing this to perceived international support for the group. He asserted the right of Jews to live in what he referred to as Judea and Samaria, rejecting the idea that Jews should not reside in these areas. Sa'ar also condemned the Palestinian Authority for incitement and warned that granting it control over borders could lead to increased security threats for Israel. He concluded that a Palestinian state will not be established, citing Israel's security concerns.
