France said to halt visas for El Al security staff

France has reportedly stopped renewing work visas for El Al security staff, preventing them from working legally in the country. The decision appears to be linked to heightened tensions between France and Israel, particularly following France's announcement of its intention to recognize a Palestinian State at the United Nations General Assembly in September. El Al security staff, previously classified as workers supporting diplomatic missions, have not had their visas renewed for the past six months, according to sources within the airline. The Israeli Foreign Ministry is investigating the matter, while the Israeli Embassy in France has attributed recent attacks on El Al offices to incitement by certain French officials.
