A group of families from Samaria crossed into Syrian territory near Alonei Habashan in an attempt to establish a new community called 'Neve Habashan.' The initiative, organized by members of the Bashan Pioneers movement, included setting up a memorial for a fallen soldier and planting flowers at the site. The families, who cited both security concerns and ancestral heritage as motivations, were soon escorted back by Israeli forces and later questioned by police. Activists called on the government to allow settlement in the Bashan region, emphasizing its historical and strategic importance.
