Japan and Turkey are set to begin detailed discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation in defence technologies, following meetings between Japanese Defence Minister Gen Nakatani and Turkish officials. The talks will focus on facilitating exchanges between the two countries' defence industries, with particular interest in unmanned aerial vehicles and command and control systems. Nakatani's visit marks the first official trip by a Japanese defence minister to Turkey, highlighting both nations' efforts to expand ties beyond their traditional partners. While Japan is considering Turkish drones as part of its defence strategy, officials emphasized that the talks do not guarantee any immediate acquisitions.
