Uttar Pradesh hosted the Rural Tourism Conclave 2025 in Lucknow, aiming to position itself as India's leading destination for village-based tourism. The event brought together government officials, policy experts, and innovators to celebrate over 40 farm stay and homestay owners who are transforming rural hospitality in the state. Minister Jaiveer Singh highlighted the deep cultural roots of India's villages and emphasized the growing appeal of authentic rural experiences for travelers.
Officials announced that 234 villages have been identified as tourism hubs, with more than 750 homestays in development and financial support being provided to local entrepreneurs. Initiatives such as silk farming and integrated agriculture are being merged with tourism to create new income streams and opportunities for villagers. The conclave underscored rural tourism as a way to reconnect younger generations with cultural heritage and empower communities through dignity, income, and identity.
