Syria has condemned what it describes as a significant Israeli military incursion into the southern border village of Beit Jinn, labeling it a 'dangerous escalation.' According to Syrian officials, dozens of Israeli soldiers and multiple vehicles entered the area, which lies near the Golan Heights, and seized control of territory in the Mount Hermon foothills. Syria's Foreign Ministry called the move a blatant violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Israeli forces have maintained several posts inside southern Syria since the fall of the previous government in December 2024, operating within a buffer zone and conducting operations to capture weapons deemed a threat.
