Artwork looted by Nazis 80 years ago spotted in estate agent ad

A painting by Italian master Giuseppe Ghislandi, stolen by the Nazis from Jewish art dealer Jacques Goudstikker in Amsterdam during the Second World War, has resurfaced in Argentina. The artwork, Portrait of a Lady, was spotted hanging in a house near Buenos Aires, which was previously owned by a senior Nazi official who fled to South America after the war. The discovery was made when the property was listed for sale by the official's daughter, and the painting was identified through a database of lost wartime art. This artwork is one of hundreds looted from Goudstikker, who played a significant role in helping other Jews escape persecution.
