Yemen's Houthi rebel prime minister Ahmed al Rahawi killed in Israeli airstrike, militant group says

Israeli airstrikes in Yemen have killed Ahmed al Rahawi, the prime minister of the Houthi rebel government, according to statements from the group. The strike occurred in the capital Sanaa and also claimed the lives of several other ministers. The Houthis, who have controlled much of northwestern Yemen since 2014 and are backed by Iran, have vowed retaliation, with their president warning of 'dark days' ahead for Israel. Rahawi, appointed last year, was responsible for civilian governance in Houthi-held areas and is the most senior official from the group to be killed since the start of recent military campaigns by Israel and the United States.
