Education Minister Yoav Kisch has cautioned high school students against skipping classes as part of a planned protest over hostages, emphasizing that absentees will be marked accordingly. While expressing support for solidarity with hostages, Kisch encouraged students to show support within school guidelines, such as wearing yellow shirts if desired, as long as uniform rules are followed. Earlier, Kisch wrote to school staff urging sensitivity toward students affected by the war and clarified that students could choose their shirt color for the first day, countering claims that only white shirts were permitted. Families from the Tikva Forum have also called on students to wear the national colors, blue and white, to express unity and pride as the new school year begins.
