The charismatic 42-year-old vegan is being fêted as a sort 'Farage of the Left', who argues that the economy has been 'rigged' for the super-rich, and has lately gained a huge social media following via catchy slogans about wanting to 'stand up for the 99 per cent'. Polanski's brand of so-called 'eco-populism' this week catapulted the Greens level with the Lib Dems in the polls, while clocking up their 80,000th member.
