Treat for eyes as winter migratory birds start arriving in NCR wetlands | Gurgaon News - The Times of India

Wetlands across the National Capital Region are witnessing the arrival of winter migratory birds, with around 30 species already spotted in areas such as Sultanpur National Park, Chandu, and Bhondsi. These annual visitors, including sandpipers, warblers, and Marsh Harriers, travel from Russian and European regions, crossing the Himalayas to make these wetlands their seasonal home until March. Birdwatchers have reported rare sightings and a diverse array of species, especially after the reopening of Sultanpur National Park. Experts anticipate even more birds in the coming months, as recent heavy monsoons have created ideal habitats for waders and ducks, drawing both birds and enthusiasts to the region.
