After two years of war, the Gaza Strip has been left devastated, with over 67,000 people killed and nearly all residents displaced. The majority of casualties are women, children, and the elderly, and tens of thousands of children have been orphaned. The destruction is so extensive that more than 90% of homes are estimated to be destroyed, leaving most people without shelter and forcing many to live in overcrowded tent camps along the coast.
Humanitarian conditions have worsened, with severe restrictions on food and aid leading to famine and hundreds of deaths from malnutrition. Although a potential ceasefire promises increased aid, uncertainty remains as previous agreements have collapsed, and many Palestinians are wary about the prospects for lasting peace and rebuilding their lives.
