The Washoku diet emphasizes vegetables, fermented foods, rice, miso soup, and fish such as salmon, trout, and mackerel. It also features soy products, cooked vegetables, mushrooms, seaweed, and green tea. Researchers found that people who adhered to this eating pattern experienced improved mood and lower levels of anxiety.
