Three diplomats from Qatar lost their lives in a car accident near Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, while traveling to attend a signing related to a ceasefire in Gaza. The vehicle, which also carried members of the emir's office and a local Egyptian driver, overturned about 50 kilometers from the city. The Qatari Foreign Ministry named the deceased as Saud bin Thamer Al Thani, Abdullah Ghanem Al-Khayarin, and Hassan Jaber Al-Jaber. Two other diplomats sustained injuries and are receiving treatment in Sharm el-Sheikh. Arrangements are being made to return the bodies and the injured to Qatar, and Qatari officials have thanked Egyptian authorities for their support.
