Egged, a major Israeli bus company, has launched a new travel app that allows users to manage and validate travel cards digitally. The app has come under criticism from the human rights group B'Tsalmo for labeling areas in Judea and Samaria as the 'West Bank.' Shai Glick, CEO of B'Tsalmo, sent a letter to Egged urging them to use the term 'Judea and Samaria,' citing its historical and legislative significance in Israel. The organization highlighted that the terminology is recognized in Israeli law and increasingly in international discourse. While Egged has not responded, the app's developer, HopOn, clarified that the map data comes from Google Maps and reflects global naming conventions, not the company's own choices.
