A rare artwork by Salvador Dali, discovered during a house clearance in Cambridge and purchased for just £150, has fetched a significant sum at auction. The piece, titled Vecchio Sultano, is a mixed-media illustration inspired by Arabian Nights and was authenticated by a leading Dali expert. Auctioned by Cheffin Auctioneers, the artwork sold for more than its estimated value of £20,000 to £30,000. The work is part of a series Dali created to reflect Middle Eastern folktales, originally commissioned by an Italian couple.
