The battle at Lulim outpost on October seventh was marked by extraordinary bravery as seven soldiers from the Nahal Reconnaissance Unit faced a sudden attack by dozens of Hamas militants. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the defenders held their ground until reinforcements could arrive, but suffered the loss of their commander, Capt. Tomer Shoham, and Staff Sgt. Or Mizrahi.

Nearby, at Camp Amitai and Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, other Nahal soldiers confronted similar assaults, fighting to protect their positions against waves of armed attackers. These battles resulted in the deaths of three more soldiers and two reservists from the kibbutz's emergency squad.

The events at these outposts highlighted the courage and resilience of the defenders, who stood firm in the face of overwhelming odds and paid a heavy price for their actions.
