Israel's Justice Minister and senior legal officials are locked in a dispute over who should oversee the investigation into the Sde Teiman video leak. Deputy Attorney General Dr. Gil Limon rejected Justice Minister Yariv Levin's demand that Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara recuse herself from the case, calling it an unlawful attempt to interfere with law enforcement. Limon emphasized that the investigation is being handled by the appropriate authorities and warned against any interference that could hinder its progress.
Justice Minister Levin, however, insists that the Attorney General has a conflict of interest due to her alleged involvement in the affair and her office's previous statements to the Supreme Court. He has formally barred her and her subordinates from participating in the investigation or related appointments, citing his authority under civil service law. Levin argues that only a full inquiry into the Attorney General's actions will ensure the integrity of the investigation.
