Former United States President Donald Trump has announced that Washington will 'be involved' in the criminal trial of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing the charges against him as 'very unfair.' In a recent interview, Trump expressed support for Netanyahu, who faces multiple corruption allegations, including bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. Netanyahu has denied any wrongdoing, claiming the charges are politically motivated.
Trump also commented on the ongoing conflict in Gaza, calling the ceasefire 'not fragile' and warning that Hamas would be 'eliminated' if it did not disarm. He suggested that he could quickly compel Hamas to disarm if necessary. When asked about his influence over Netanyahu regarding negotiations and recognition of a Palestinian state, Trump emphasized his effective working relationship with the Israeli leader, referring to him as the 'wartime prime minister.'
