Moscow has seen a significant surge in visitors from India, welcoming over forty thousand Indian tourists in the first half of 2025—a forty percent increase from the previous year. This growth has made India the second-largest source of tourists among non-Commonwealth of Independent States countries visiting the Russian capital. The rise is attributed to easier e-visa processes, a vibrant events calendar, and dedicated cultural festivals such as International Day of Yoga and Bharat Utsav, which have strengthened cultural ties and showcased Moscow's hospitality.
Moscow's tourism authorities have also launched India-focused initiatives, including specialized guides and active participation in Indian travel exhibitions, to further boost arrivals. The city hosted the OTOAI Convention 2025, marking a milestone in tourism collaboration. With these efforts, Moscow aims to continue attracting more international visitors, especially from India, and expects to reach up to six million foreign tourists annually by 2030.
