The United States has imposed sanctions on an Indian company, Farmlane Private Limited, as part of a broader crackdown on entities accused of supporting Iran's missile and drone development efforts. Farmlane was named among 32 individuals and organizations operating across several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, China, Hong Kong, Germany, and Ukraine, all allegedly linked to Iran's ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle production.
According to the US treasury department, Marco Klinge, Farmlane's director, played a central role in procuring missile propellant ingredients from Chinese suppliers for Iran's Defence Industries Organisation. The sanctions also target Klinge and associated companies in Germany and the UAE, citing their involvement in supplying hundreds of metric tonnes of chemicals to Iran since 2023.
US officials stated that these measures are part of an ongoing effort to disrupt Iran's attempts to rebuild its missile and drone capabilities, which pose threats to US and allied personnel in the Middle East and commercial shipping in the Red Sea. The United States has called on the international community to fully implement sanctions to prevent Iran from accessing the global financial system.
