US Central Command reported conducting more than 22 operations against the Islamic State in Syria over the past month, resulting in the elimination of five militants and the capture of nineteen. These coordinated raids, carried out with Syrian partners, have significantly weakened the group's ability to operate both locally and internationally.
Military leaders emphasized that the ongoing efforts are crucial to ensuring that gains against the group in Syria and Iraq are sustained, and that the group cannot regenerate or export violence abroad. Despite losing most of its territory in recent years, the group continues to pose a threat through sleeper cells that remain active in the region.
The international coalition, now joined by Syria as its ninetieth member, remains committed to countering the group's influence and preventing future attacks.
