Dr Aladwan, a National Health Service doctor, has been suspended following allegations of antisemitic and offensive social media posts. The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service stated that her posts could undermine patient confidence in her and the medical profession, potentially discouraging patients from seeking treatment. The General Medical Council launched an investigation after receiving complaints that her online activity included conspiracy theories and content supporting terrorism.
Her lawyer argued that there is no evidence her actions have affected patient safety or her ability to perform her duties. The tribunal, held in Manchester, was an interim hearing to decide on restrictions to her practice during the ongoing investigation. The suspension will be reviewed in six months, and the tribunal emphasized that no patient complaints or harm have been reported so far.
