Harvard Hires Divinity School Graduate Who Assaulted Israeli Classmate

Harvard University has hired Elom Tettey-Tamaklo, a recent divinity school graduate who was criminally charged for assaulting an Israeli classmate during an anti-Israel protest, as a teaching fellow. Despite being ordered to complete anger management and community service, and removed from his previous role as a freshman proctor, Tettey-Tamaklo began his new position advising faculty on curriculum design in August. Harvard did not discipline Tettey-Tamaklo or cooperate with prosecutors, drawing criticism from political figures and alumni who accused the school of failing to address antisemitism. The university also supported another student involved in the protest, awarding him a prestigious fellowship. The Israeli student who was assaulted has since sued Harvard, alleging the school obstructed his efforts to seek justice.
