Former Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has warned that any future aggression from Israel will be met with Iranian self-defense, following what he described as Israeli 'miscalculations' during the recent conflict. Zarif, speaking at the Doha Forum, emphasized that Iran does not seek hostilities but will respond if attacked, urging Israel to avoid further escalation for its own benefit.
The remarks come after a 12-day war in June 2025, during which Israeli and United States forces targeted Iranian military and nuclear sites, causing significant damage. Since the ceasefire, Iranian officials have repeatedly warned of their readiness for renewed conflict, highlighting advancements in missile technology and the possibility of further hostilities.
Iran's Defense Minister Aziz Nassirzadeh stated that the country now possesses more advanced missiles than those used in the recent war, vowing to deploy them if attacked again. Senior military figures have also cautioned that the current ceasefire may be only a temporary halt in a broader conflict.
