Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal has reaffirmed his organization's commitment to the destruction of Israel, rejecting international demands to disarm and opposing recent peace proposals. Speaking at a pro-Palestinian conference in Istanbul, Mashaal called for unified efforts to 'liberate Jerusalem' and reclaim holy sites, while denouncing United States President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan that requires Hamas to surrender its weapons.

Mashaal dismissed the idea of international oversight or transitional authorities in Gaza, asserting that Palestinians will not accept foreign mandates or re-occupation. He emphasized that two years of conflict have not broken Palestinian resolve, despite extensive military support for Israel.

Outlining future priorities, Mashaal stressed opposition to the 'Judaization' of key territories, the release of imprisoned militants, and the need to build Arab unity against Israel. He also called for increased efforts to challenge Israel on the global stage, including in academia, media, and politics.
