Talia Sommer has made history as the first Israeli player to join the United States National Women's Soccer League. The 21-year-old, who started her career at Maccabi Tel Aviv and played collegiate soccer at Butler University, has signed with Gotham FC, the reigning league champions based in New Jersey. Sommer will join a roster that features several internationally renowned players, including Rose Lavelle, Emily Sonnett, Ann-Katrin Berger, and Bruninha.
