'No pardon for Oct. 7': Protesters in Tel Aviv blast PM, call for return of Ran Gvili

Around 1,000 demonstrators gathered at Habima Square in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, with parallel protests in Jerusalem, Haifa, and other cities, to demand government accountability for the failures surrounding the October 7 attack. Protesters called for the return of Ran Gvili, the last deceased hostage whose body remains in Gaza, and urged President Isaac Herzog not to grant Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a pardon in his ongoing corruption trial. Speakers at the event, including family members of hostages and activists, criticized Netanyahu's leadership and rejected any deal that would exchange a pardon for a state commission of inquiry into the attack. The protest ended with the singing of the national anthem and a Hanukkah song, as participants vowed to continue their efforts until all hostages are returned and government accountability is achieved.
