The Knesset has passed a law extending the government's authority to restrict foreign broadcasting channels deemed harmful to state security until the end of 2027. The legislation allows the Minister of Communications, with approval from the Prime Minister and the Cabinet or government, to take measures against foreign channels if their content is considered a significant threat. These measures can include stopping broadcasts, closing offices, seizing equipment, blocking websites, and preventing satellite reception. The law was approved with 22 votes in favor and ten against.
