A court has quashed a summons against comedian Reginald D Hunter, ruling that a private prosecution brought by a Jewish group was an 'abusive' attempt to have him 'cancelled'. The case, which accused Hunter of sending offensive messages on social media, was dismissed by Judge Michael Snow, who found the prosecution was motivated by improper reasons and that the group had misled the court. The judge criticised the group for failing to disclose relevant information and for presenting a misleading summary of the events. Hunter, who had raised funds to fight the case, was previously cleared by police following a separate incident at a comedy gig.
