Bangladesh has formally expressed its interest in joining an international force aimed at stabilizing Gaza, according to a government statement released after meetings between Bangladeshi and United States officials in Washington. The announcement comes as the situation in Gaza remains tense, with a United Nations Security Council resolution having authorized a temporary international force following a fragile ceasefire.
Despite the ceasefire, violence continues, with hundreds of Palestinians and several Israeli soldiers reported killed since its implementation. Most of Gaza's population remains displaced, living in makeshift shelters amid ongoing instability. Progress towards a lasting peace has stalled, as both Israel and Hamas accuse each other of violating the terms and remain divided over future steps.
