IDF unveils 'Olim Al Bet' program for fast-track immigrant reserve enlistment

The Israel Defense Forces has introduced a new initiative called 'Olim Al Bet' to fast-track skilled immigrants into military reserve service. This program, developed in partnership with the Aliyah and Integration Ministry, offers eligible immigrants aged 26 and older a condensed two-week basic training before assigning them to active reserve units. The initiative aims to address operational needs and respond to increased interest from immigrants who previously could not enlist through traditional channels. Participants are placed in roles that match their professional and academic expertise, including medical, technology, engineering, and logistics positions. The program requires a five-year commitment to active reserve service, with full recognition and compensation, and is currently accepting applications.
