The United States has initiated the second phase of its plan to resolve the conflict in Gaza, as announced by Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff. This phase introduces a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, which will oversee the demilitarisation and reconstruction of the region. The plan calls for the disarmament of all unauthorised personnel and expects full cooperation from Hamas, including the return of the final deceased hostage. Witkoff warned of serious consequences if these expectations are not met.
