2025 inflation 2.6%; home prices resume rise

Israel's Consumer Price Index remained stable in December 2025, capping a year in which overall inflation reached 2.6 percent. Notable price increases were seen in clothing, fresh produce, housing, and transport, while declines were recorded in culture and entertainment, food, domestic equipment, and health.

In the housing sector, rents for tenants renewing leases climbed 3.0 percent, and rents for new tenants rose 4.6 percent, reflecting trends similar to annual averages. After eight months of consecutive declines, home prices increased by 0.7 percent in October-November, though the annual change compared to 2024 was minimal at 0.1 percent. The Central Bureau of Statistics notes that these home price figures are provisional and may be revised.
