Respiratory technician Orly Shalom was called to the trauma unit at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital following a tragic incident at a daycare in Jerusalem. After preparing medical equipment, it became clear that resuscitation was not required for the babies arriving at the unit. Shalom took a one-year-old baby into her care, focusing on calming and comforting him with a gentle hug until his family arrived. Other staff members, including nurses and social workers, also worked to soothe and support the children during the chaotic situation. Shalom expressed gratitude for being able to provide comfort, hoping such large-scale emergencies will not happen again.
