Hyundai Motor India has achieved its highest-ever annual performance, producing and selling over 7.6 lakh vehicles in the financial year. Sport utility vehicles were the main growth driver, making up 69 percent of domestic sales, with the Creta leading the mid-size segment. The company also saw significant growth in rural markets, especially for compressed natural gas models, and is considering launching its luxury brand Genesis in India. Manufacturing expansion is underway with new engine production at the Talegaon plant, set to boost annual capacity to over one million units. Hyundai is also focusing on connected car technology and electric vehicle infrastructure, planning to launch 26 new models by 2030, including six electric vehicles, and expanding its charging network. Exports have risen, with the company targeting further growth in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
