The Knesset has approved the split of the Arrangements Law following a closely contested vote, with 60 members in favor and 56 against. The legislation received backing from Shas and the Degel HaTorah faction of United Torah Judaism, after extensive negotiations centered on the Draft Law with the legal advisor to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
In contrast, the Agudat Yisrael faction of United Torah Judaism opposed the proposal, marking a division within the party. Despite efforts by other factions to make the vote a confidence measure for the government, several members remained firm in their opposition.
