The Indian Embassy in Iran has issued an urgent advisory asking all Indian nationals to leave the country immediately as tensions escalate between Tehran and Washington. Citizens, including students, pilgrims, business persons and tourists, have been advised to depart using available transport, including commercial flights.
The embassy reiterated its earlier warning urging Indians to exercise caution, avoid areas of protests or demonstrations, and stay in regular contact with embassy officials. Nationals have also been instructed to keep their travel and identity documents readily accessible and monitor local media for updates.
The advisory comes amid continuing student protests in Iran and ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington over a nuclear deal. A fresh round of talks is scheduled in Geneva later this week, while the President of the United States has warned Iran to reach an agreement within 10 to 15 days, raising concerns about further escalation in the region.
