A new study has found that the perception of Jews as 'powerful' is a central driver of modern antisemitism across both right-wing and left-wing political movements. Researchers say this belief fuels hostility by portraying Jews as wielding outsized influence in politics, finance and media.
According to the study, antisemitism is no longer confined to fringe extremist groups. It has increasingly appeared in liberal and progressive spaces, including university campuses, cultural institutions and broader public discourse.
The researchers report that this trend has intensified following the October 7 terror attack carried out by Hamas terrorists, with antisemitic narratives spreading more openly across ideological lines.
