Beitar runs riot over Netanya to remain in title race

Beitar Jerusalem delivered a dominant 8-2 victory over Maccabi Netanya in league play, featuring seven different scorers to stay firmly in the title race. Yarden Shua led the way with two goals and an assist, while Yarden Cohen, Boris Enow, Gonzalez, Johnbosco Kalu, Ziv Ben Shimol and Adi Yona also found the net. The win moved Beitar to within four points of league leader Hapoel Beersheba.

After falling behind early, Beitar responded quickly and surged to a 5-2 halftime advantage before adding three more goals in the second half to complete the rout. Coach Barak Itzhaki praised his side's creativity and confidence, while Shua highlighted the impact of the new players and the team’s overall control of the match.

In other action, Maccabi Tel Aviv edged Ashdod 3-2, while Hapoel Petah Tikva defeated Maccabi Haifa 1-0 to remain in the Championship Playoff picture. Bnei Sakhnin and Hapoel Tel Aviv played to a scoreless draw, Ironi Tiberias claimed a dramatic 3-2 win over Maccabi Bnei Reineh, and Ironi Kiryat Shmona blanked Hapoel Jerusalem 1-0.
