Dozens of far-right activists gathered outside the apartment building of Channel 13 journalist Lucy Aharish on Thursday, shouting racist and threatening slogans. At least 20 protesters blocked the entrance, chanting phrases such as 'Let the Israeli military win' and 'Inshallah you have a heart attack.' According to reports, this marked the fourth protest at her home within five days.
Aharish, an Arab-Israeli journalist, has recently faced backlash for criticizing two right-wing coalition lawmakers over remarks about Arab homicide victims and for urging Arab citizens to vote and protest government inaction on violent crime in their communities. Clashes broke out between police and demonstrators during the latest protest, and some activists reportedly threw rocks at photographers.
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett condemned the harassment, calling it a dangerous breach of boundaries and warning against efforts to intimidate Aharish and her family at their private residence.
