The United Kingdom has temporarily withdrawn its diplomatic staff from Tehran due to a rapidly worsening security environment, raising concerns about potential military escalation between the United States and Iran. Officials said the embassy will continue to operate remotely, but warned that assistance for British nationals inside Iran is now extremely limited.
In addition to the withdrawal from Tehran, the United Kingdom relocated some embassy staff and their dependents from Tel Aviv to safer areas within Israel. The moves come as regional tensions intensify and fears of broader conflict grow.
Commercial travel has also been disrupted, with flights from Istanbul to Tehran reportedly cancelled, including services operated by Turkish and Iranian airlines. The cancellations reflect mounting uncertainty and concerns over possible instability in the region.
