Videos circulating online show some Iranians celebrating Israeli and United States strikes on military and government sites in Tehran, with footage capturing people dancing in the streets and young men shouting 'I love Trump' as smoke rose in the background. The celebrations reportedly took place before a nationwide internet blackout reduced connectivity to minimal levels. While the videos could not be independently verified, analysts said they appeared recent.
At the same time, Kurdish media shared footage of pro-regime students demonstrating outside Tehran University, though the timing of that video remains unclear. State-linked media reported that security forces, including the Basij paramilitary, were deployed across the العاصمة as authorities sought to maintain control.
The strikes come after months of deepening unrest fueled by economic crisis and the collapse of the national currency. Protests that erupted in December were met with violent repression, with reports of thousands killed, mass detentions, and alleged abuses in hospitals. Analysts cautioned that while visible celebrations may signal weakening regime control in some areas, they do not necessarily indicate the presence of a coordinated opposition capable of replacing the government.
