The Education Ministry has canceled all educational activities nationwide from Saturday through Monday at 8:00 p.m., following a decision to shift to an 'essential activity only' defense policy due to the security situation. The directive applies to all sectors and includes formal and informal programs, holiday celebrations, trips, and special events. Schools that were operating when the order took effect are ensuring an orderly dismissal of students.
Boarding schools with adequate protected spaces may allow students to remain on campus near safe areas, while those without such facilities are carrying out organized evacuations. All Israeli delegations currently abroad have been instructed to stay in their hotels, and outgoing delegations have been suspended. Travel authorities are operating in line with security guidelines.
A psychological support hotline has been opened to assist students, parents, and educators, operating around the clock. Education Minister Yoav Kisch said the system is acting responsibly and drawing on experience from past conflicts to maintain stability and safety during the emergency.
